“This is Boyly Soap!” (A Three-year-old’s Product Review Of Dial Kids Body+Hair Wash AND Giveaway)

This morning, bright and early, our three-year-old son, Ezra, came bounding into our room. He heard the shower and knew his Daddy was in there. Immediately I heard, “Daddy, can I take a shower, too? Can I use my new soap that smells good?” He was so excited when my husband said yes. Ezra usually showers at night, so both of us had a good chuckle over his exuberance to not only shower, but to insist on using his new body wash.
DialKidsBodyWashPurexInsider While in the shower, Ezra was declaring how much he loved his new soap. It has this awesome peach smell so I can understand why he liked it so well. While washing, it was mentioned that it doesn’t smell like “girly” soap but that it just smells clean to which Ezra exclaimed, “Yeah, it’s not girly soap, it’s “boyly” soap! :-)

Are any of you wondering about this body wash that Ezra is enjoying so much? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I am a Purex Insider and this program sends me different products to try for free in exchange for an honest review of their product. My family is truly enjoying this latest round of products. I am pleased to share with you that the Dial brand has created the NEW Dial Kids Body & Hair Wash for two different age groups so our children can have age-appropriate cleansing products to meet their specific skin needs. The two age groups are 2+ (which is for ages 2 to 5) and 6+ (created for ages 6 to 10). Ezra is three so his 2+ body wash comes in this fabulous peach scent called Peachy Clean (in the white bottle pictured). It was made for children who have outgrown the traditional newborn soaps, but are not yet ready for adult strength body and hair wash. I know he said it was “boyly” and not “girly” but trust me, moms and dads, when I tell you that your daughter will smell like a sweet little peach and her skin will be so soft. I could smell Ezra before he got out of the shower. I think Dial needs to make a lotion in the same scent. It’s great! Ezra also didn’t cry about soap getting into his eyes both times that he’s used this so far AND his hair is shiny. Seriously, since he was in the shower, a picture would have been inappropriate but I wish I could have captured his joy over taking another shower just to use his new soap. The 2-in-1 formula was designed to make shampooing and body washing easy and speedy, according to Dial, but I wonder if they knew it would make kids WANT to get clean!?! One thing I discovered about the product is that it was developed with pediatric dermatologists. My kiddos have sensitive skin like their momma so a dermatologist’s backing is appreciated.

I happen to also have an almost-seven-year-old in my house so Purex Insiders also sent me the 6+ variant to try. The 6+ body and hair wash boasts to mildly cleanse the skin without drying it out. We were sent Watery Melon. Berry Cool is another scent said to be on the shelves soon for the 6+ age category. Ella was thrilled with her body wash, as well. No, she didn’t beg for extra showers, but she was extremely excited to toss her current body wash away. It was supposed to smell like Strawberries and Cream but the strawberries must have gone bad in that bottle. She hated that stuff and it was supposed to soften her skin, but I can’t say that I’ve noticed any such results. So, she eagerly opened the bottle of Dial Kids Watery Melon Body+Hair Wash and went to work. The smell was pleasing, but not overpowering and there was a great lather. It didn’t take much of the product to get the job done, either. Now Ella has what we call “Rapunzel hair” meaning that it is super long so we have been using certain shampoos and conditioners for her specific hair needs. We decided to just use this new product for body wash. But, if we were on a trip I would not hesitate to use this on her hair, as well, since I’ve seen positive results with Ezra’s use of his Dial Kids Body+Hair Wash. Both age-appropriate formulas report to be tear free, hypoallergenic, contain no artificial dyes or added parabens and are Ph balanced.

Below is a picture of my sweet, smelling cuties on Easter Sunday! :-)

Dial Holiday Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash

I am a Purex Insider and had a fun opportunity to try a new Antibacterial Holiday Foaming Hand Wash from Dial! My kids loved trying out this product! The bottles had cute holiday designs on them. We received one with Santa on it and the other was red with festive trees. The antibacterial soap is red in the bottle so the foam is pink and it smells fresh and fruity. The funny thing is, we couldn’t figure out what the scent actually was. It may have been cranberry, but I’m still not so sure. I looked all over the bottle for an actual name to the scent but there was none to be had. Personally, I wouldn’t choose a bottle of soap without looking at the scent. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased soap for it’s physical appearance only, even if the bottles are as cute as the ones we’ve received. I think Dial would help it’s customers out if they added the name of the scent to the package. This really is the only criticism I have of the product, though. The foaming hand wash bottle dispensed the perfect amount of soap per hand washing and the pump worked EVERY time! I appreciated that the soap was antibacterial, yet it didn’t dry out our skin. We just ran out of our first bottle that we’ve had for about 3 to 4 weeks. Considering I have little kids who wash their hands A LOT, I would say it went very far. :-) My three year old son keeps talking about how great the soap is! I’ve appreciated this campaign to try and review this product. Thank you Dial and Purex for sending me the free bottles of foaming hand wash.

Seventh Generation’s NEW Overnight Diapers Review and Giveaway

I had the opportunity to try out Seventh Generation’s Overnight Diapers this past month. I was able to try a pack for free thanks to MyBlogSpark. Seventh Generation boasts that their diaper products are gentle on your baby as well as safe for the planet. Seventh Generation also claims that their diaper products are “Lorax* Approved!” Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax* is known for being the “speaker for the trees” and Seventh Generation has partnered with Universal Studios to promote the theme of this movie. This month, Seventh Generation diapers and training pants have been featuring limited edition Lorax prints. Have you gotten your package, yet?

Along with promoting care of the environment by featuring Lorax prints on the products this month, the company has also expanded their products to NEW Overnight Diapers to help keep your baby and his bedding dry through the night or for those long trips in the carseat. They have also improved their Free and Clear diapers with flexible tabs to provide an even better fit. Their Free and Clear training pants have an absorbent core made from renewable, plant-based materials and have those marvelous stretchy sides that tear away when we need to discard them. Remember, Seventh Generation baby products DO NOT contain chlorine, fragrance, petroleum-based lotions or latex, and all Free & Clear products are also hypo-allergenic.

I was very pleased with the NEW Overnight Diapers. They truly did keep my 2 year old dry through the night, even when he consumed a lot of liquids before bed. My son’s skin did not react in any way to the materials used in making the diapers nor did they have an unpleasant scent. There was only one day where the diapers didn’t come through for me, but I can’t blame the product for that accident. I don’t think the diaper was put on very well and that’s what caused the leak. My son was excited when he recognized The Lorax* character on his diapers. Overall, I would recommend these diapers to a friend. If I have a really great coupon in the near future I will purchase these again. I’m definitely interested in the training pants next. I just need to convince my son of this now. :-)

Product Review: Downy Unstopables In-Wash Scent Booster

Thanks to Vocalpoint, I was selected to recieve a full-size sample of the new Downy Unstopables In-Wash Scent Booster. I have been using this product on and off for the last month and am amazed at how intense the fresh scent remains on clothing hanging in the closet or housed in drawers. Stinky socks won’t know what hit them! But, you may be asking what exactly is an In-Wash Scent Booster. I didn’t know what it was either until I opened up the bottle.

Downy Unstopables are dissolving scent beads that you put into your washing machine before starting your wash so that more scent is infused into your clothing. The freshness is boasted to last more than 30 days. I have only had this product for less than a month so I will be sure to share my results. I truly have been amazed how fresh the clothes smell and I haven’t noticed any negative changes in the appearance of my clothing or towels like a filmy residue or anything of that nature. I only have one complaint about the product. I’m not really sure that I would always want to have to add ANOTHER product to my laundry every time. Why can’t this be a softener, as well? I love the Purex Complete Crystals softener that has replaced my liquid fabric softener, so why can’t Downy Unstopables do the same thing??? I truly love the smell of my clothes, but I don’t know if I would buy another product for the scent boosting power alone. Those who need scent-free laundry soap and softener wouldn’t have a need for this product at all, I guess. The verdict is still out on if this is a must have product for me. I do admit that I’ll be sad when I run out–I really like to use it on smelly dish rags that were left in the sink too long (*GASP* I just admitted a flaw!) or on Stevan’s especially smelly clothes after he’s been sweating outside all day.
