“This is Boyly Soap!” (A Three-year-old’s Product Review Of Dial Kids Body+Hair Wash AND Giveaway)

This morning, bright and early, our three-year-old son, Ezra, came bounding into our room. He heard the shower and knew his Daddy was in there. Immediately I heard, “Daddy, can I take a shower, too? Can I use my new soap that smells good?” He was so excited when my husband said yes. Ezra usually showers at night, so both of us had a good chuckle over his exuberance to not only shower, but to insist on using his new body wash.
DialKidsBodyWashPurexInsider While in the shower, Ezra was declaring how much he loved his new soap. It has this awesome peach smell so I can understand why he liked it so well. While washing, it was mentioned that it doesn’t smell like “girly” soap but that it just smells clean to which Ezra exclaimed, “Yeah, it’s not girly soap, it’s “boyly” soap! :-)

Are any of you wondering about this body wash that Ezra is enjoying so much? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I am a Purex Insider and this program sends me different products to try for free in exchange for an honest review of their product. My family is truly enjoying this latest round of products. I am pleased to share with you that the Dial brand has created the NEW Dial Kids Body & Hair Wash for two different age groups so our children can have age-appropriate cleansing products to meet their specific skin needs. The two age groups are 2+ (which is for ages 2 to 5) and 6+ (created for ages 6 to 10). Ezra is three so his 2+ body wash comes in this fabulous peach scent called Peachy Clean (in the white bottle pictured). It was made for children who have outgrown the traditional newborn soaps, but are not yet ready for adult strength body and hair wash. I know he said it was “boyly” and not “girly” but trust me, moms and dads, when I tell you that your daughter will smell like a sweet little peach and her skin will be so soft. I could smell Ezra before he got out of the shower. I think Dial needs to make a lotion in the same scent. It’s great! Ezra also didn’t cry about soap getting into his eyes both times that he’s used this so far AND his hair is shiny. Seriously, since he was in the shower, a picture would have been inappropriate but I wish I could have captured his joy over taking another shower just to use his new soap. The 2-in-1 formula was designed to make shampooing and body washing easy and speedy, according to Dial, but I wonder if they knew it would make kids WANT to get clean!?! One thing I discovered about the product is that it was developed with pediatric dermatologists. My kiddos have sensitive skin like their momma so a dermatologist’s backing is appreciated.

I happen to also have an almost-seven-year-old in my house so Purex Insiders also sent me the 6+ variant to try. The 6+ body and hair wash boasts to mildly cleanse the skin without drying it out. We were sent Watery Melon. Berry Cool is another scent said to be on the shelves soon for the 6+ age category. Ella was thrilled with her body wash, as well. No, she didn’t beg for extra showers, but she was extremely excited to toss her current body wash away. It was supposed to smell like Strawberries and Cream but the strawberries must have gone bad in that bottle. She hated that stuff and it was supposed to soften her skin, but I can’t say that I’ve noticed any such results. So, she eagerly opened the bottle of Dial Kids Watery Melon Body+Hair Wash and went to work. The smell was pleasing, but not overpowering and there was a great lather. It didn’t take much of the product to get the job done, either. Now Ella has what we call “Rapunzel hair” meaning that it is super long so we have been using certain shampoos and conditioners for her specific hair needs. We decided to just use this new product for body wash. But, if we were on a trip I would not hesitate to use this on her hair, as well, since I’ve seen positive results with Ezra’s use of his Dial Kids Body+Hair Wash. Both age-appropriate formulas report to be tear free, hypoallergenic, contain no artificial dyes or added parabens and are Ph balanced.

Below is a picture of my sweet, smelling cuties on Easter Sunday! :-)

April Showers didn’t bring the May Flowers..they were already here! :-)

As for just about every person we know, the weather has been rather crazy around here. Our mint patch has taken off and has already been cut twice! It’s begging to be cut again. My husband is begging that I make more Mint Tea, too! The fridge needs cleaned out before I can fit a bunch of pitchers of Mint Tea in there, though! :-) I don’t recall such lively Spring growth so soon, do you? I even got sunburned last week from playing outside! I did have sunscreen on, I promise. I just must have missed some spots, not counting on shedding my light sweatshirt. Lesson learned.

April is becoming quite a month in our household and in our family members’ lives. Ella turns 6 this month!!!!!! (Can this really be??) She LOVES Kindergarten! She writes pages of stories constantly and is READING!!!!!! I think she’s most excited about bringing a birthday treat to school. It wouldn’t surprise me if she writes a story about it, too! With this crazy week creeping up rather quickly on us I should probably figure out how to make a Ladybug Cake in the next day or two. I only have a week to perfect it. Remember my hilarious Rapunzel cake attempt last year?? (Please tell me you have forgotten!) Ella only remembers it with “rose colored glasses” for which I am truly grateful. :-) In other words, she still thinks I can make anything.

How crazy of a week is it, do you ask?? Well, some of the events are—- Ella has a solo in the Kindergarten Spring Concert at school on Thursday. My parents are coming to visit at the end of this week. Stevan and I leave to go to a district pastors and spouses retreat on Friday while my parents watch the kids. Yes, we shall mourn our loss the whole time we are in a hotel ALONE! I doubt if they’ll miss us much anyway. :-) I have loads of laundry to conquer, still have to plan meals for this week and I definitely need to write directions on how to watch tv with our remote and Netflix for my mom. Sometimes this proves to be rather hilarious…my directions and her trying to understand them. It’s probably good my Dad will be around. Maybe we’ll just let Stevan explain it to him. :-)

Speaking of birthdays…My sister turns (ha, like I’m declaring it before her) this month, too! She is also trying to sell her house. Need a house in Marion, IN? I’ve got just the place for you! :-)

Some other stuff has been happening in April (and the months before), too, that needs some prayer. My husband’s mom is in need of a valve replacement for her heart. Her surgery was scheduled for yesterday. But, on Thursday it was postponed by the doctor’s office. Apparently some other individual needed emergency surgery. We’re thankful we aren’t in that family’s situation, but waiting and wondering isn’t very easy to do. My sis-in-law flew in from Chicago to be with her mom after the surgery and now I’m sure she is wondering how her trip is going to pan out. I’d want to be with my mom after her surgery, too, but staying indefinitely would be hard to make happen. Please pray for this situation, will you? God’s Hand is so obvious in all of this, so please help us to keep looking to Him when the answers aren’t evident. As of now, the surgery does not have a new date. Pray for Stevan’s mom as she maintains her health situation during this time. She has peace and is trying to follow the doctor’s orders right now. Keep Stevan’s entire family in prayer at this time. We’ll keep you posted.

Another thing to pray with me about is my little man, Ezra! Ummm…….HE turns 3 next month!!!! Sure, he’s looked 3 years old for the last six months, but he really is almost 3….and has no desire to potty train. Yes, I know you’re laughing at that last statement. Pray for this Mommy as we venture into that fun transition! :-)

Stay tuned for footage of Ella’s solo and any stories of Ezra attempting to run onto the stage and sing with Ella. You know the possibility is always likely with Ezra. :-)

Educational Tip

We’ve been downloading some of the free on-line printable resources for preschool and Kindergarten aged children that MoneySavingMom alerted me to. I tried them out today, hoping they will work for Ella’s Busy Bag at church during the sermon. She begged to start working with them today while Ezra napped! Here, Ella is rolling a die and graphing her results. The pattern for the die is included in the printable pack. We printed it on card stock, cut it out, folded it and taped. A spinner is another alternative in the pack. She is having so much fun. A sheet protector turns a resource into a reusable one! I now have a binder full of sheet protected activities. All Ella needs are some dry erase markers and some tissues for erasing. We found some cheap dry erase markers in the $1 Spot at Target. Cheap, educational, and fun! What more could you ask for!?! Did I mention that this one is also QUIET!?!

What are your favorite Busy Bag Activities? What are some great tips to help activities be used more than once???
