This brightens my day…

Stevan has a 102 degree fever. Has had it for the past two days. It’s been not too fun trying to help him rest in the midst of a happy three year old and a teething infant.

But, this picture taken by a new friend this weekend helps immensely! Thanks, Julie!:-)

God is Good, All the time….even when

it takes your refrigerator to die in order for you to be reminded of His hand and the awesome way He operates.

We still don’t have a working refrigerator to call our own, yet. But, a brand-spankin’ new one will be delivered and installed tomorrow! Praise the Lord! More than one church member donated to the cause and the head trustee just called Stevan back to reassure him that there are 6 in stock at Lowe’s so one will, for sure, be knocking on my door tomorrow. :-) I’m ready to make coffee for those delivery men now, I’m that excited!

If you happen to be reading this and took part in the donation for our refrigerator, please know how thankful and grateful we are to your generous gift!!!! Also, a BIG thank you to our Food Fairy–you know who you are but I won’t embarrass you since I know you don’t like that–for supplying the gift card that will greatly come in handy as we restock.

Oh yes, friends, I have a gift card to restock. You know what that means? I’m going to bargain hunt and coupon clip for the best possible deals to make that gift truly bless us beyond it’s original means.:-) Tune in for the play by play if I come home with some awesome deals!:-)

We are also very thankful to the trustees for taking action once they discovered the urgency of our need. (I think it’s pretty cool that the trustee that came by to check out the fridge yesterday made sure to not only insist on cleaning up his own mess when he was through, but he also asked if there was anything else around the house he needed to take a look at. He had just gotten home from his own job when he received the call. Thanks, Steve! Your wife should be proud!)

Also, thanks to Martie, our Children’s Ministry director, for loaning us her extra fridge yesterday. Ice cold milk never tasted so refreshing as it did this morning!

Once again, thank you Lord, for going beyond our expectations. We are truly blessed. Happy Pastor Appreciation Month to Stevan. We had no clue what this month would bring.

Death of the Fridge

I’ve been slightly frustrated with our fridge for awhile now. Every once in a while it would start smelling and I would go insane looking for the culprit. Never finding anything truly spoiled, I would close it in frustration. But, the next time I opened it an exploded can of biscuits would greet me. Or worse, I would be pouring Ella a bowl of cheerios only to watch the milk come out in chunks all over the toasted o’s! Yuck!

What was happening? I watch expiration dates! I keep my fridge healthy, throwing out leftovers and what not all the time. Mold knew not to rear it’s ugly head in MY fridge!

But, alas! WE have finally noticed that things aren’t cold enough and another gallon of milk has bit the dust.

It’s dead. My food inside it is dead. Now, the waiting game has begun.

My husband shares his sentiments on the subject here. Pray for us, will you?

I Should Not Know About These…

product_coconutmms

Oh my! I was at Wal-mart and happened to see a display for Limited Edition Coconut M&M’s! I shouldn’t have bought a little white packet. I just shouldn’t have torn open a corner and popped one in my mouth because they are way yummy! (When I got home, of course! I didn’t open them in the store!) Seriously! All they need is to be mixed with some Dark Chocolate or even reg M&M’s and I’d have a hard time leaving these alone–EVER! Okay, okay so they don’t even need the other kinds with it because there is still a milk chocolate layer between the coconut center and outside candy coating.

Oh dear! I bought a pack for me and for Stevan. I have to post this so I don’t eat his before he even knows about them.

Remember, they are in a white package, if you’re interested. Too bad I used all of my free chocolate coupons because I would have used all four coupons to get four free packages.

Have you tried them?

What’s your favorite kind of M&M’s? Leave a comment and share.

Where are the Coupon Inserts???

Sent to the Proctor and Gamble website contact information:

To Whom It May Concern:

At the beginning of this month I was distressed to not find the P&G BrandSaver in my local newspaper. Thinking it was a flaw on the paper’s fault, I checked each wk thereafter, but have not found the valuable coupons that I’ve come to expect and use each month. I checked on your site today to make sure something didn’t happen to my area newspaper and found that the state of PA suddenly isn’t going to receive your coupons in the paper anymore. Is there a reason and is there an alternative way to receive coupons??? I am highly frustrated as I want to buy Pampers and Old Spice and other wonderful products from you. Can you mail them to me? I’m going to post my concern on my blog, Twitter and Facebook as well, in case others are experiencing this problem, too.

Thank you,

Jessica Sheets

Anybody else missing their coupons? I didn’t receive the Kellogg’s insert, either. RedPlum/Valassis was pulled when I moved here. What’s with the state of PA not getting the coupons???

****Edit: The entire state of PA is not losing the BrandSaver, but it looks like much of Western PA is. Search for your area here on PG’s website.

My Amazing Husband

The summer has been LONG and Stevan has been gone for almost a month of it put together. So, this week, he put together his personal days to create a ‘staycation’ of sorts. We hit up Hershey, PA and Chocolate World. We also went to the Children’s Museum of Pittsburg and had a blast! It has been so great to have him HOME (especially to go to bed and wake up beside him)!

Now, this isn’t to say that all the time away from us was a bad thing. He was ministering to youth and other youth pastors. I just happened to have an infant and toddler that I had no desire to try and take care of in a different place or we would have been there, too. But, I digress….. this post is devoted to Stevan Paul Sheets, my amazing husband.

I don’t deserve him, for one thing. He works all the time and yet, he always makes time for Ella and Ezra. Though exhausted after getting home late on a Wednesday night after youth, he will help me with Ezra if he’s still up and needs changed or put to bed. He hasn’t even complained about my lack of good meals lately. He gets that I’m stressed and really does try to alleviate it when he can. I, on the other hand, count the minutes he’s coming home on days there have been lots of tears or diaper blowouts and potty incidents. :-) Is he greeted with exuberance? More like an exhausted, “Hey, Babe. I haven’t started dinner yet.”

This week has been awesome, though! Not only has he been able to rest a little and enjoy his family, but Stevan has done loads of laundry, cleaned up after dinner MANY times while I’ve been nursing, has bathed Ella and Ezra almost exclusively (I’ve done one bath all week), vacuumed and today he even made breakfast!!!!!!!!!!! We won’t try and compare what I have accomplished. That’s why I’m celebrating my amazing husband. He always helps me when he can, but he went over and beyond this week with his servant’s heart. He could have mentioned his frustration with what needs to be done before doing it out of desperation to find a clean t-shirt and underwear!:-) But, he didn’t. He just took the initiative and did it.

Thanks, Babe! I love you and am so thankful for you. I’m proud of you for being willing to do anything to help me out. I don’t deserve you but I am sure blessed to be married to you (especially since we’ve only been married for 5 years! You’re going to be even more amazing in ten–man, I better get working on myself so I can say the same!)

Those of you reading…I know you’re jealous, but he’s mine! :-)

Ella at VBS last night!
