It was a low key day today. Ella woke up happy and decided to roll all over the living room this morning. No crawling, yet, but I think she’d rather stand at this point.
We just laid her down for bed. She thinks it’s a game now that she can play peek-a-boo with her blankets. She’s making her little sounds right now, but it is such a blessing to know that she is already aware that she has to stay in bed and go to sleep. Wow! I guess we’ve done one thing right in this world of parenting. It’s time for me to go to bed, as well.
Update from Saturday–Ella woke up before I had my shower (she only slept for 45 minutes, the little booger!)! But, my mom came soon after so she entertained Ella, well…..actually Ella entertained her for the rest of the day. Stevan and I had a great date. As we got out of the theater we called to check on things and Mom told us that Ella slept for three hours (practically the whole time we were gone). She had just eaten when we returned and we all had a great evening as a family. Mom made it back before the ice storm got bad, too. Thanks again, Mom!
By the way: I have the best Mom–not only does she drive over an hour to come baby-sit, but she does my laundry and dishes while Ella naps. When Ella and I first came home from the hospital, Stevan would joke that he only needed two pairs of underwear because the ones he wore the day before were already washed and back in his drawer. (That hasn’t happened when I do the laundry–ever!) I don’t know how Mom always did it with us growing up. She’s still helping me. I am truly blessed.
