Thought I should post this shot of me before I lose the basketball!:-)
We go in at 6:30 AM on Thursday, May 28th for the scheduled c-section and then we get to meet this little man.
My mom is here helping me tremendously so I haven’t broken down and cried uncontrollably for almost 6 days now!
That’s a record!
Ella is doing well, too, though she’s decided to wake up before 7 every day even though she’s been going to bed later! Guess she knows her routine as she knows it will be forever changed in a few days! Other than that, she is still the best little girl a mommy could wish for. She has also decided that by turning three, she can do anything–the fear has left her and independence has set in full force. Am I going to have my hands full???
Pray for Stevan and me to rest these next couple of days so we can deal with the lack of sleep we will now get for the next three months of our life–especially Stevan. I can at least look bad all day without a shower on the tough days, but he’ll have to go to work!
He’s a good daddy and will go over and above the call of duty, so pray for him now! I appreciate it.
Of course, I too, would appreciate your prayers for a speedy recovery with the c-section. Now that I’ve had one before, I feel like I will know a little more of what to expect which can only help me in the healing process. But, my body will still need TIME to heal so pray I don’t over do it while I have help in my house.
Stevan and I will both be twittering, I’m sure–the feed is on the right side of this blog. I would follow him on Twitter or Facebook if you aren’t already since he’ll be even better at updating than me–I’ll be a little busy!

MoneySavingMom.com shared another link for ways to get those Kellogg’s coupons. So, if you haven’t printed any yet, go here to get both links. If you have already printed your coupons, Target is having a Special K deal. MoneySavingMOm tells you how to use all of these coupons to get your best deal. Remember to always hit your back button to get those coupons to print a second time. Also, the ones from the Kellogg’s website only print one to a page, so wait to hit your back button and refeed your paper into your printer so you can print on the opposite side of your paper (unless that is too complicated for you!).

If you haven’t signed up yet for Huggies EnjoyTheRideRewards.com program, you need to. I received a sample in the mail last night and right in the package was a code that earned me 5 points. Here is my code: LNXBX-DXTSH-BSPGB (hope it earns you five points, as well). So far, I think Pampers rewards program is still better, but Huggies has always mailed better coupons, so maybe this program will get better with time, as well.

Last night I had a rough night–Braxton Hicks made it hard for me to breathe so I had to walk around for a little while after 11 pm. I just wanted to sleep…!
The thing is, Ella hadn’t been asleep that long! We had put her to bed at 8, but she kept crying out for stuff and then at 9:45 she came out of her room–this is not characteristic of her at all!!! Back in her room at 10, yet she still made noises and scratched the wall. More warnings to go to bed….finally silence at 11!
Meanwhile, I cried in the bathroom feeling like a failure. So much still to do to get the house and clothes ready for Ezra, plus I need to only use my energy on Ella and the house instead of other people during the day! Then, spend time with Stevan at night.
I probably hadn’t done enough to make Ella tired during the afternoon–used all my little bursts of energy to do laundry (hand me downs for Ezra) and clean the kitchen. This last month is always tough, of course, no real sleep for mommy as her body gets ready to give birth and I think Ella was feeling it, too. So, I had plans to take her outside to play today no matter what—guess what? It rained last night and everything is wet.
Guess we’ll go visit Daddy at church instead and then mail Grandma’s paintbrushes at the post office.
Pray I really will use my bursts of energy on my family and my house for my own sanity’s sake! SO glad God is in control of everything ultimately because I screw it up regularly!

Ella pays attention to EVERYTHING we say lately! Usually it comes out at hilarious times, too. Well, today, she must have heard me say to Stevan that it feels like Ezra is trying to get out today. So, later, she asked me if I felt better. I told her that I felt a little better, but that Baby Ezra keeps pushing on my belly and it hurts a little bit. She looked at me incredulously and asked, “Is she pushing on you?” “Yes, he is pushing on my belly,” I replied. “Does he want to get out?” she asked. I smiled and said I think so and so she then offers, ” Want Ella to help Baby Ezra get out?” I told her he needed to stay in my belly so he can grow some more, but isn’t that the most adorable thing a child could ask you? Made my day!

Ella turns three this Thursday. It is so hard to believe! She is turning into quite the little independent socialite at church, but she still loves to cuddle and snuggle with us at home.
This past weekend, all of her grandparents visited for a birthday party and Ella decided she was going to start going potty on the “big potty” every time and stay dry in between. I ended up putting a pull-up on her during the day and only used the diapers for nap and bedtime. She has already met her Daddy’s goal of filling her potty chart with heart magnets to get a slushy, too! He thought it would take her at least three or four days and she had it filled the first day!
So, we finally got that slushy yesterday and she is filling up her now blank chart quite quickly again. She even protests to putting the diaper on at all, but she has yet to stay dry during the night and hasn’t “gone number 2″ in the big potty, yet, so I’m not going to pressure her to do that just yet.
I just can’t believe she did it on her own! She just decided to try and she has stayed dry every time with the exception of Sunday after church because she was practically falling asleep at the dinner table.
Her eyes still get big when she feels herself “go” so I know it’s a phenomenon to her, too!
Yes, I also know that with a baby coming in 61/2 weeks that she could regress, so I’m just praising her for every time it’s working and I refuse to get so pushy that she decides to quit in stubbornness. I do admit to using skittles as a reward with the potty chart because sometimes she just needs that extra tangible incentive to try, but I don’t use the candy before sleeping for her teeth’s sake!
I’m so proud of my little big girl!
(I’m having problems with pictures–as soon as I get them to work, I will add them to this post!)
